Biography
Simran Sharma is the Asia Associate at Indo-Pacific Advisory (IPA), where she brings a strong background in political risk consulting, policy research, and strategic partnerships. Based in India, she supports IPA’s business development efforts and provides clients with timely insights into India’s political and regulatory landscape.
Prior to joining IPA, Simran worked with Amazon’s Corporate Security division in Washington, D.C., where she contributed to the development of risk mitigation strategies that enhanced operational and reputational resilience across the North East Americas region. She has also held roles at Bower Group Asia, a prominent risk advisory firm, and contributed to research and policy analysis at think tanks such as the Near East South Asia Center (U.S. Department of Defense) and the Observer Research Foundation in Mumbai.Simran began her career as a Development Consultant with the Gandhi Fellowship Program, working in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra to strengthen grassroots education outcomes.
Her research interests include India’s foreign and economic policy with South and Southeast Asian countries, as well as digital and technology policy within India’s domestic governance framework. She is the co-author of a book chapter titled The International Relations of the Taliban with Dr. Hassan Abbas, published in The Return of the Taliban. She has also represented India’s Arctic policy at the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavík, Iceland, through a graduate-led delegation.
Simran holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, and completed her undergraduate studies at Punjab University in Japan. She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, and has basic proficiency in Spanish. Outside of work, Simran enjoys outdoor adventure hikes and prioritizes fitness as part of her lifestyle.
