We are honoured to welcome Dr. Taimur Baig, Ph.D., as a Board Advisor at Indo-Pacific Advisory (IPA). A globally respected economist and thought leader, Taimur brings with him a wealth of experience spanning macroeconomics, financial markets, and policy innovation.

As the Managing Director and Chief Economist at DBS Group Research, Dr. Baig is at the forefront of analysing the forces shaping global financial markets. His expertise spans macroeconomics, monetary policy, currency markets, credit and interest rates, and financial risk areas that are critical for businesses navigating today’s volatile and fast-evolving economic landscape.

Dr. Baig’s career reflects a deep commitment to understanding and shaping the world of finance. Previously, he served as Principal Economist at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Chief Economist for Asia at Deutsche Bank, and Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, DC.

An accomplished author and speaker, Dr. Baig has published extensively on topics including monetary policy, digital currencies, climate change, frontier markets, and financial market contagion. He also hosts Kopi Time, a widely followed podcast that features in-depth conversations on global markets and economic trends.
